How we approach accessibility, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Vertuem wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of how they browse — by keyboard, with a screen reader, at high zoom, or with motion and transparency reduced. This statement describes the standard we hold ourselves to and what we have done to meet it.
1. Our Commitment
We treat accessibility as part of building the site well, not a later add-on. We test the things people actually do here — reading the pages, navigating between them, and completing the contact and application forms — and we fix barriers as we find them.
2. Standard We Target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. Conformance is an ongoing effort rather than a fixed end state, and we treat any gap against this standard as something to correct.
3. Measures We Take
Among the steps taken on this site:
- Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Form fields have programmatically associated labels, required and error states are conveyed to assistive technology, and submission results are announced.
- The mobile menu manages focus — moving into the menu when it opens, trapping focus while open, and returning it on close.
- Text is sized and coloured to meet AA contrast for body and supporting text, and the layout reflows without loss of content at high zoom and on small screens.
- Animation, motion, and transparency respect the
prefers-reduced-motionandprefers-reduced-transparencysettings. - Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We have not commissioned a formal independent audit, and parts of the site rely on third-party services we do not fully control. Where we become aware of a barrier, we prioritise fixing it. If you encounter something that does not work for you, please tell us — see below.
5. Feedback and Contact
If you experience any difficulty accessing part of this site, or have a suggestion that would make it work better for you, contact us at hello@vertuem.com. Please describe the page and what happened so we can reproduce and address it. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and to resolve issues as quickly as we can.
